Funeral Attendance

For those who would like their family dog at the service.

Dogs play a massive role in our lives, they give companionship, emotional support, fun, frivolity and help to keep us active and young at heart.  What most people don’t realise, is that dogs experience grief just as we do, so giving them an opportunity to be part of a life celebration is a wonderful thing to consider. Dogs express their grief in similar ways to humans, they go off their food, they seem a little depressed and not their usual happy selves.  Dogs in particular are pack animals, so their pack is the most important thing to them and when they lose a member of their pack, they grieve that loss.

Our service includes:

  • Initial consultation

  • Transport to and from the funeral

  • Short walk prior to arrival

  • Comfort break on arrival

  • 1 hour dog walk whilst you are at the wake

  • Feed & settle dogs(s) afterwards

Alternatively, we will look after your dog whilst you are away at the service, whether that be a walk or companionship visit.

Please note permission must be sought from the church/crematorium prior to service booking.  Sadly not all venues allow pets.
